Las Peregrinas… the women who walk.
What is lacking — spiritually, emotionally, and physically — from the apparently secure and comfortable lives of modern North American women that compels them to voluntarily choose to suffer both the joys and anguish of walking hundreds of kilometers on a medieval pilgrimage route?
Las Peregrinas is a powerful and moving documentary about facing our deepest fears by questioning the value of everything that we were taught was important in life.
Sue Kenney, veteran pilgrim, author, and inspirational speaker returns to Spain to shepherd a group of first-time women pilgrims (in Spanish known as, Las Peregrinas) on their own individual journeys of self-discovery, where Sue’s philosophy and values, as well as the Camino’s legendary power to transform lives, will be put to the test.

Support for Screening Events
In the last century, interest in this pilgrimage route has consistently increased worldwide, especially after it was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Last year alone, Pilgrims from 103 different countries walked the Camino and almost 40% were between the ages of 36 and 60 years. The largest number of foreign pilgrims come from Italy, Germany, France, Portugal, USA and the Netherlands followed by the UK, Austria, Canada, Belgium, Brazil and Switzerland. Teachers, retirees, artists, and students make up 60% of the audience for all things “Camino.”
Would you like to host a screening event? Sue Kenney has created an event program called a Gathering, which has proven to be a tremendously popular mix of film, moderated presentation and dialogue. Groups, associations and organizations interested in the Camino are encouraged to request the DVD as well as The Gathering guidelines to produce a powerfully moving event. If you are interested, or you know a group that would like to host an event, please contact Sue Kenney directly at kenneysue-at-gmail-dot-com, or download & submit the materials below:
