Kilimanjaro Barefoot

Posted January 27, 2016 | by Sue Kenney | in Barefoot | no responses

Often people can’t understand why I would choose to run or walk barefoot through the forest or in the snow and there isn’t always a simple answer. Mostly it’s because I like to be connected to the Great Mother Earth and I’m not afraid to expose my feet to the elements because I trust they are designed to take care of me. Even after reading studies and scientific evidence, in the end what is most important for me is that it makes sense.

Sue BF in village back 2014-05-25-0549-Camino de Santiago-MA great way to train for the Camino is to walk barefoot. Start in your home, then step outside to the backyard or a park. Go slowly as you are adapting your entire body to a new way of walking. Your alignment is shifted because you are walking with your heels on the ground.

Offer to leave your intention on the Camino

Posted September 27, 2015 | by Sue Kenney | in Camino | no responses

When I walk the Camino, I walk for the world. In one week I’ll be on my way to Spain to walk the Camino with my lovely group of pilgrims. It is such an honour to return to the path that had a profound shift in my life. On my first journey in 2001 I learned that I could pick up a stone along the path of the Camino and put my sorrow, or the sorrow of others, into it. When I set the stone down, I left the sorrow behind and it opened my heart for more love. I’d like to offer to pick up a stone for you. If you have a particular intention (it doesn’t have to be sorrow)you would like me to put into the stone, I will set it down on the path. You can post your intention here or email me kenneysue at gmail.com if you prefer confidentiality.

Why I Love The Idea Of BareBottom Shoes, The Real Barefoot Shoe

Now I’m not just talking about slipping off my socks while in the house watching TV here, I mean really being barefoot – As in leaving the socks off, shoes at home, and getting out and about and living my daily life in bare feet.
